Strength From Above and To God Alone be the Glory
1 You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
2 You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand—
when I awake, I am still with you.
19 If only you, God, would slay the wicked!
Away from me, you who are bloodthirsty!
20 They speak of you with evil intent;
your adversaries misuse your name.
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord,
and abhor those who are in rebellion against you?
22 I have nothing but hatred for them;
I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting
Pity Notices - Compassion Acts
My I Live Today with Compassion, doing for one what I would wish to do for many. To live with serenity, being one part of a much larger puzzle, knowing I am not alone in this journey.
God, my father, may I be reminded that I am not an owner but a manager,
Give me the strength courage wisdom and self control to invest in your kingdom come and be reminded that I do not work for the glory of my kingdom but for the kingdom of a just and generous King
That you will give me what I need to serve you , my daily bread both physical and spiritual
Let me proclaim your faithfulness both past and present with shouts of joy.
May I laugh at the days to come
And proclaim that even in our doubt,
You are faithful,
You are always reaching for us.
Lord Break the dawn, crack the skies
Make the way bright before me
Shine on this land and bring rains to this desert and may you name be praised forever for you deep deep love that goes beyond miracles
Even in my old age and gray hairs
You will sustain me
You have made me and will carry me;
You will sustain me and rescue me
Lord, thank You for today. May I embrace it as Your gift, celebrate Your faithfulness, and live this day fully for You.
May your word be rooted deeply in my heart and not fall on rocky ground. Let it not fall on the path and be susceptible to the devil but rooted deeper still in your love for me. Strip these weeds and worries that bind my faith. May I give my fears up to you and trust in you who ultimately holds the heavens and the earth and has broken the chains of hell.
That power is the same as the mighty
strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
...
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.
...
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens?
Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket,
or weighed the mountains on the scales
and the hills in a balance?
...
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
...
And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
...
“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”
...
I arise today, through
God's strength to pilot me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptation of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
afar and near.
...
Put on your glasses and see the kingdom of heaven
and all that He has prepared for you
...
Lord I find You in the morning
Lord I seek You everyday
Let my life be for Your glory
Woven in Your threads of grace
I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh how I need You
Oh oh oh oh...
Light, glorious light
I will go where You shine
Break the dawn, crack the skies
Make the way bright before me
In Your light I will find
All I need, all I need is You
...
...
Child of time
Of sun and moon,
I Am the light from which you're hewn,
The Author of the timeless tune,
Eternity is coming soon
Child of time
Of flesh and bone,
Why strive as though you are alone?
The seed of hope in you I've sown,
That I will bring you safely home
Child of time
Of land and sea,
All I have I give to thee,
All I dream is yours to be,
All I Am to set you free
...
Listen to me, you descendants of Jacob,
all the remnant of the people of Israel,
you whom I have upheld since your birth,
and have carried since you were born.
4 Even to your old age and gray hairs
I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you
...
Lord thank you for
The strength of heaven,
The light of the sun,
The radiance of the moon,
The splendor of fire,
The speed of lightning,
The swiftness of wind,
The cleansing rain
The depth of the sea,
The stability of the earth,
The firmness of rock.
Lord thank you for the love you have given me and the love you have shown me through others you have placed in my life.
Lord, thank You for today. May I embrace it as Your gift, celebrate Your faithfulness, and live this day fully for You.
...
This is the day the Lord has made
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
...
9 I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes, 10 but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
...
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for God’s temple is sacred, and you together are that temple.
...
“Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but the Lord rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
...
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
...
Our Father,
Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thy'n is the kingdom, the power, the glory,
forever and ever, Amen.
...
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.
...
Lord let me be like the honey you promised,
Let me bring sweetness and healing to those around me.
Give me your eyes to see
your ears to hear
your heart to feel
and your hands to heal
cleanse my soul so that I may serve you
and walk the path you have set before me
Humble me so I may see your great works
and let me stay in your house forever
Amen
psalms 27:1-5,14
1 The Lord is my light and my
salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my
life-
of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked advance against me
to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes
who will stumble and fall.
3 Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then I will be confident.
4 One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the
Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
5 For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his
sacred tent
and set me high upon a rock...
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
...
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails....
....
12 We work hard with our own hands. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it; 13 when we are slandered, we answer kindly....
...
Do with one hand without the other knowing
....
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
...
Treat others as God's children, holy and dearly loved. See them as God the Father sees you, forgiven and blameless through Jesus' sacrifice.
...
10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
...
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
...
Lord, I trust you with my plans,
may I follow you and may your plan become my plan
...
You have already chosen me
Why worry about my inadequacy
You have already known me
Well before you paid for my work with your blood
You bought me for the highest price
when the world claimed my fate was already set in stone
I am your child
One you could never
Will never
Turn your back on.
You know my weaknesses
Like Moses,
my words fail me.
Like the kings,
I am prone to jealosy, greed, and pride.
Like the sons and daughters of Abraham,
I am prone to forget my Father
Like your deciples,
I fall asleep on the job.
Like Thomas,
I doubt your great works and your great love.
And yet,
despite this lack of faith
You are faithful.
You have remembered me as your child
And redeemed the blood line and inheritance of humanity by sacrificing your own.
You are a good good father.
And I am loved by you
...
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
...
You lead me like those before me by still waters
you make me lie down in green pastures
you bring beauty from my brokenness
and make all things work together for my good
and the good of all your people.
...
You are a good and gentle God.
You come in whispers,
Eager to show your face.
Yet careful not to crush us
With your overwhelming presence.
As waves in a tide you wash over us,
Carving away all blemishes
And then lulling our hearts
With warm blessings,
And fresh air./
We may not see you,
But you make your presence known
In the wind
In the earthquake
And in the fire.
But in the still small voice, you come./
You are always reaching for us
despite our doubts
Sinking and swelling below the surface.
Knowing the stones we cast
When we are a stone's throw away
From being there ourselves,
You created us still.
You knew we would crumble but
You were already working
on the clay to mend,
Insisting we are yours
And we will rise again.
...
Come, Thou fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace,
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Here I raise my Ebenezer,
Hither by Thy help I've come,
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God,
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.
Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be,
Let that grace now like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee:
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love.
Here's my heart, oh, take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.
...
Been traveling these wide roads for so long
My heart’s been far from you
Ten-thousand miles gone
Oh, I wanna come near and give ya
Every part of me
But there is blood on my hands
And my lips are unclean
In my darkness I remember
Momma’s words reoccur to me
"Surrender to the good Lord
And he’ll wipe your slate clean"
Take me to your river
I wanna go
Oh, go on
Take me to your river
I wanna know
Tip me in your smooth waters
I go in
As a man with many crimes
Come up for air
As my sins flow down the Jordan
...
Come set Your rule and reign
In our hearts again
Increase in us we pray
Unveil why we're made
Come set our hearts ablaze with hope
Like wildfire in our very souls
Holy Spirit come invade us now
We are Your Church
And we need Your power
In us
We seek Your kingdom first
We hunger and we thirst
Refuse to waste our lives
For You're our joy and prize
To see the captive hearts released
The hurt, the sick, the poor at peace
We lay down our lives for Heaven's cause
We are Your church
And we pray revive
This earth
Build Your kingdom here
Let the darkness fear
Show Your mighty hand
Heal our streets and land
Set Your church on fire
Win this nation back
Change the atmosphere
Build Your kingdom here
We pray
...
...
Who am I, Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?
...
Ah! How often, Christians, hath God kissed you at the beginning of prayer, and spoken peace to you in the midst of prayer, and filled you with joy and assurance upon the close of prayer!
...
Never let me stop petitioning Lord
Let me always come to you
Let me leave my aspirations at your feet
and help me carry the burden
of my brothers and sisters
as you did for me
Let me petition on behalf of them
for my strength comes from you
and you are a good good father
who knows what his children need
and enjoy giving good gifts
and sharing your beautiful creation
...
Open our eyes, Lord, let us see
All that You are, all that You mean
Open our ears, Lord, let us hear
All that You are, be loud and clear
Please be near
Heaven, Heaven fall down
Spirit, Spirit pour out
Come God come, come like the wind
Fill up this place, we welcome You in
Come God come, come like the rain
Open the sky; show us Your face
Oh, Lord, we wait
...
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
In this Irish Home
May these walls be filled with laughter,
may it reach from floor to rafter.
May the roof keep out the rain,
may sunshine warm each windowpane.
And may the door be open wide to let the good Lord’s love inside.
...
God, give me grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things
which should be changed,
and the Wisdom to distinguish
the one from the other.
Living one day at a time,
Enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is,
Not as I would have it,
Trusting that You will make all things right,
If I surrender to Your will,
So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,
And supremely happy with You forever in the next.
Amen.
